InVision is a Professional Recruitment firm specializing in Information Technology, Engineering, Industrial/Skilled Trades, and Professional Services within Canada and the U.S. We have a successful track record working on both small and large recruitment projects, across North America.Our client, a leading manufacturing organization is looking to hire a Cost Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis.This role supports financial planning and strategic decision-making by ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis for biometric hardware products.Responsibilities:Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM) structures for biometric devices and related hardware components.Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, labor, and overhead allocations to ensure accurate product costing.Monitor and reconcile inventory valuation, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.Perform cost roll-ups for new products and engineering revisions.Analyze landed costs including freight, duties, tariffs, and supplier pricing.Monitor production and assembly variances and provide root cause analysis.Work with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure accurate component pricing and cost structures.Partner with engineering and product management during new product development to establish target costing.Evaluate supplier cost changes and their impact on product margins.Prepare monthly cost variance reports and margin analysis for management.Support pricing strategy by providing accurate cost data and margin analysis.Support budgeting and forecasting related to product costs and manufacturing expenses.Analyze gross margins by product line, region, and channel.Assist with month-end close activities, including inventory reconciliations and cost adjustments.Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial controls related to inventory and cost accounting.Support internal and external audits related to inventory valuation and cost accounting practices.Maintain documentation for cost methodologies and financial controls.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.Professional designation (CPA, CMA, or working toward designation) preferred.35+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in hardware manufacturing, electronics, or technology products.Experience with ERP systems and strong advanced Excel / financial modeling skills..Employment Rewards:Permanent opportunityExcellent compensation packageGrowth Opportunities3 weeks vacation to start.Application Process:All Qualified candidates will be contacted.InVision is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind:InVision is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.Work Location: In person
