We are seeking experienced Linux Patching Engineers to support a high-volume, enterprise environment with a strong focus on cloud-hosted infrastructure. The role will be responsible for maintaining system security, stability, and compliance through effective patch management across both on-prem and cloud platforms.This is a hands-on technical role suited for candidates comfortable working in fast-paced environments with strict patching cycles, change management processes, and uptime requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform OS patching and updates across Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)Execute scheduled and emergency patching activities in line with security and compliance requirementsManage patching across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environmentsUtilize patch management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Satellite, WSUS equivalent for Linux)Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and security teams for patch validation and approvalsParticipate in change management processes, including documentation and change ticketsTroubleshoot patch failures and system issues post-deploymentEnsure minimal downtime and service disruption during patch cyclesMaintain accurate documentation of patching activities and compliance statusSupport vulnerability remediation efforts based on security scans (e.g., Qualys, Tenable)Required Skills & Experience35+ years of hands-on experience administering Linux systemsStrong experience with Linux patching and lifecycle managementFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Bash, or Python scriptingKnowledge of change management processes in enterprise environmentsExperience working with vulnerability management toolsStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple patch cycles
