Reporting to the Manager of Communications, this role plays a key part in strengthening internal engagement and enhancing our external presence across the healthcare sector.The Digital Strategist will create compelling, accessible, and visually engaging content that reflects our mission of compassionate, person-centred care and advances key organizational priorities, including recruitment and retention, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism and Indigenous Reconciliation, and community partnerships.This role blends strategy, storytelling, design, and analytics to ensure our digital platforms effectively inform, engage, and inspire.Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Strategy & Platform ManagementDevelop and implement digital communications strategies aligned with corporate priorities Manage and optimize the organizations website and digital platforms, including supporting internal tools (e.g., intranet/SharePoint) Collaborate with IT and external vendors to enhance digital infrastructure and user experience Content Creation & DesignCreate high-quality digital assets, including social media graphics, videos, web visuals, infographics, and campaign materials Translate complex clinical and organizational information into clear, engaging, and accessible content Ensure consistency with brand standards and organizational messaging Campaigns & EngagementPlan and execute digital campaigns supporting programs, recruitment and retention, events, and community engagement Support internal communications initiatives to enhance staff engagement and awareness Analytics & Continuous ImprovementMonitor digital performance metrics and analyze trends Develop reports and provide recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and user experience Accessibility, Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure all digital content meets accessibility standards (AODA), privacy legislation, and organizational policies Support issues management and crisis communications through timely and accurate digital updates Identify and mitigate risks related to digital communications, including reputational and privacy considerations Collaboration & AdvisoryPartner with clinical programs and departments to support communication needs Provide guidance and training to staff on digital communication and visual design best practices QualificationsEducationPost-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Experience35 years of experience in digital communications, strategy, or a related field Demonstrated experience in graphic design for digital platforms Experience managing websites and content management systems (CMS) Experience in healthcare, public sector, or nonprofit environments is considered an asset Skills & CompetenciesStrong visual design and content creation skills across multiple digital formats Proficiency with digital tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms, analytics tools, social media platforms) Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities High attention to detail, particularly in a regulated healthcare environment Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
