Long Term Care Program Manager (Woodlands of Sunset - Fonthill, Ontario) Job Title: Long Term Care Program Manager (Woodlands of Sunset - Fonthill, Ontario) Location: Woodlands of Sunset, Fonthill, Ontario Work Status: Temporary FullTime (12 months) Hours: 35 hours/week Salary: $91,180.00 - $107,260.00 Closing Date: May 12, 2026 Job Summary Reporting to the Administrator Long Term Care, the Long Term Care Program Manager is responsible for providing safe, residentfocused, quality recreation, rehabilitation, volunteer/students, pastoral care, hairdressing, and music therapy services in the Long Term Care Home while ensuring compliance with Ministry, legislative, and corporate expectations. Education - Postsecondary degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, health or social sciences, or related field. Knowledge & Qualifications - At least 3 years of current related experience in a Long Term Care Home; at least 3 years of current related experience in management. - Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. - Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems. - Knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Homes Act and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accreditation Process, Food Premises Act, and Food Handlers Certificate. - Certification in Volunteer Management or equivalent. Responsibilities - Program Management (30%): Oversee recreation, music therapy, rehabilitation, pastoral care, hairdresser, and volunteer/students activities; provide leadership and align with operational plans; support continuous quality improvement, inspections, and accreditation; coordinate inventory and supply management; chair or attend meetings; guide resident councils, auxiliary, volunteers, and community partners; develop and maintain volunteer database; recruit, train, schedule, evaluate volunteers; plan recognition and educational events. - Policy & Compliance (20%): Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures for the programs department; ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements; maintain active presence in the home for safety and quality; manage risk mitigation activities; ensure clinical documentation and care planning compliance with applicable standards. - People Resource Planning (20%): Plan organizational structures; hire, develop, assess staff; coordinate staff recruitment and performance; ensure alignment of activities; promote employee engagement; facilitate Occupational Health & Safety compliance and hazard management. - Financial Management (10%): Administer and approve acquisition of goods and services per procurement policy; manage annual and multiyear budgets, monitoring adherence, variances, and reporting. - Relationship Building (20%): Engage residents and families; represent the Home at provincial, regional, and community forums; promote the Homes image; support other managers; manage contracts; coordinate external funding; assist with media communications. Special Requirements - Criminal Records Check and Canadian Police Clearance Certificate for vulnerable sector. - Pass Tuberculosis screen. - Ability to travel to other offices or sites as needed.
