Job OverviewSolico Metal Inc. is seeking a high-performing Site Foreman to lead our on-site erection teams across the Calgary region. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the successful execution of our structural steel projects, misc. metal, and custom fabrications. You will manage crews of installers and welders, ensuring that every site meets Solicos rigorous quality standards and Alberta OHS safety protocols. We are looking for a leader who is 'boots-on-the-ground,' technically sharp, and capable of delivering complex structural projects on schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Site Leadership: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of installation crews (installers, welders, and laborers) to ensure project milestones are met.Technical Oversight: Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and structural plans for racking systems, mezzanines, and industrial handrails.Operational Coordination: Establish work methods to meet schedules and coordinate seamlessly with project managers and other subcontractors on-site.Safety Mastery: Act as the Site Safety Lead. Train workers on safety procedures, conduct daily hazard assessments (FLHAs), and ensure a 100% injury-free environment.Quality Control: Resolve on-site structural problems and ensure all installations are plumb, level, and secure according to engineering specifications.Reporting & Logistics: Requisition necessary tools and materials; prepare daily work progress reports and track equipment health (e.g., scissor lifts, forklifts, overhead cranes).Experience & QualificationsStructural Steel Expertise: Proven experience in the installation of structural steel components.Supervisory Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role on construction or industrial sites.Technical Literacy: Expert ability to read blue-prints and technical drawings.Physical Resilience: Capable of heavy lifting, working at heights, and enduring Calgarys outdoor work environments and extreme temperatures.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to lead morning tool-box talks and document site progress.Work Environment & Physical DemandsEnvironment: Predominantly on-site.
