This is a hands-on position requiring strong excavation knowledge, minimal oversight, and the ability to independently manage take-offs, pricing, and tender submissions.The Estimator will work closely with senior leadership, project management, and operations, playing a critical role in bid accuracy, profitability, and seamless project handover to field teams.Typical Project ScopeHigh-rise building excavationUnderground and structured parking excavationLarge-scale bulk excavationDirt removal volumes typically ranging from 50,00090,000 m per projectShoring is subcontracted to a long-standing partner with established pricing advantagesKey ResponsibilitiesEstimating & TenderingPrepare detailed earthworks take-offs and estimates from IFC and tender drawingsPrice excavation scopes including:Bulk and detailed excavationMass haul and material balancingExport/import and disposalTemporary access and sequencing considerationsReview drawings, geotechnical reports, and specificationsDevelop pricing using Excel-based estimating toolsCoordinate with shoring subcontractors for accurate pricingPrepare scopes, assumptions, clarifications, and exclusionsSubmit competitive and well-structured tenders on timePre-Construction & HandoverParticipate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as requiredSupport smooth handover from estimating to project management and field teamsAssist with budget setup and early-stage project planningProvide pricing support for changes and additional workCollaboration & Internal SupportWork directly with senior leadership, project management, and field operations teamsEnsure estimates reflect realistic production rates and equipment utilizationMaintain and continuously improve historical cost dataQualifications & Experience5+ years of experience estimating excavation / earthworks projectsProven experience with high-rise or large-scale excavationStrong knowledge of production rates, mass haul, and sequencingAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProficiency in Excel-based estimating toolsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD or similar take-off softwareStrong organizational and communication skills
