This role is well suited to a student in Computer Science or a related program who is interested in applying machine learning, image processing, and Python development to challenging real-world datasets.The project focuses on transforming scanned geological maps and other raster-based documents into structured GIS data. You will support the development of workflows that detect and classify mapped features such as boundaries, symbols, linework, and patterned areas, helping bridge the gap between unstructured imagery and usable spatial data.
