Position SummaryRock Solid Cases, a division of FM Systems Group, is currently hiring a Wood Worker Fabricator Level 1 role for our manufacturing shop located in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Wood Worker Fabricator level 1s primary duty is to assemble and build cases, working to the design specifications.Responsibilities:Learn Rock Solids custom case manufacturing standards and best practices in fabricating and assembling cases.Utilize custom design templates, cut, and sand down to specifications.Use of power tools and various other hand tools to assemble cases.Working with multiple different materials.Foam cutting and aluminum extrusion cutting.Complete case interior fittings by lining with foam or carpet.Apply finishes.Shop clean-up, organize scraps, and materials, and tool maintenance.Prepare products for shipping.Advise Shop supervisor on stock level and raw material.Preform quality checks.Adhere to all safety protocols and safe work practices.Contribute positively to the culture and success of the company.Other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.Core Competencies:Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and equipment.Basic computer skills.Mathematical and analytical skills are necessary to do material take-offs and cut lists.Ability to work and thrive in a collaborative and multitasked environment while efficiently managing time.Self-motivated and able to work independently while following all health and safety standards.Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.Strive for continuous improvement (accuracy, tolerances, speed) without sacrificing qualityRequirements:High School Diploma.Experience following blueprints ensuring output is to exact specifications.Experience working with metal, solid wood, veneers, MDF, plastic and acrylic laminates.Previous experience working in carpentry or manufacturing would be considered an asset.Hours of Work:Typical hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Saturday. 40 hours per week on a rotating shift.
