Pirate Gold is committed to responsible exploration practices that balance innovation, environmental stewardship, and meaningful engagement with local communities.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Core Geotechnician role is a detail-oriented role supporting core logging and geological data collection at Pirate Gold's Treasure Island Gold Project. Working closely with geologists, the role focuses on accurate handling, measurement, and documentation of drill core to support exploration and resource evaluation. The position combines hands-on physical work with technical data collection, and it is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and enjoys working in an active exploration environment on a rotational schedule.Schedule: 9 days on, 5 days off / 10 hour days.WE WILL TRUST YOU TO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)Rotate and orient drill core in boxes, including drawing cut lines on the core.Measuring meter marks and core box details on the core; entering information into MX Deposit database.Collect data using hyperspectral and magnetic susceptibility tools.Lifting, arranging, and managing drill core boxes safely.Assist core logging geologists with sample data input.Uphold Pirate Golds health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.Assist the field team and Project Geologist with ad hoc tasks assigned.YOU WILL NEED TO BE/BRING (QUALIFICATIONS)Previous experience in mineral exploration or a core geotechnician role is preferred.Post-secondary degree or diploma in earth sciences, geology, geological or civil technology, or a related field is preferred.Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency; experience with geological logging software is an asset.Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal), enabling effective collaboration in field teams and precise data reporting.Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and handling up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods, and working safely in variable outdoor conditions.A strong commitment to workplace safety regulations and procedures, and the use of PPE.Valid Canadian driver's licence.DON'T MEET EVERY QUALIFICATION?!We value potential as much as experience.
