EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY PAYROLL SUPERVISORMECHET CHARITIES LIMITEDOPEN COMPETITIONTerms of Employment: Full - TimeJOB PURPOSE:The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the payroll function related to Mechet Charites Limited, Enoch Housing Authority, Enoch Cree Nation Casino Account and Kitaskinaw Education Authority Casino Account.This includes supervision and training of staff. The Payroll Supervisor works with the Chief Financial Officer to provide timely payroll processes and ensure staffing is within the annual budget. The Payroll Supervisor reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:Payroll Supervise the payroll team completing bi-weekly payroll, including timesheet verification, deductions spreadsheet, and pre-cheque approval prior to posting payroll.Review and approve payroll related deductions, such as group benefits, pension, loans, advances, rent, Director of Maintenance, and Receiver General.Ensure accurate employee files are being maintained in UKG and as per Program Manager.Maintenance of payroll records including employee accruals, printing payroll reports, based upon internal and external requests, and audit.Review and approve the T4 reconciliations, adjustments, and processing as prepared by payroll staff. Filing of T4s.Review and approve any outstanding payments for the year, retroactive payments, and vacation/Christmas pay.Upon receipt of termination, resignation, or retirement letter, approve final timesheet in WFM and approve outstanding deduction amounts and accruals in UKG.Review and approve Records of Employment (ROEs) and final pay.Financial ReportingPreparation of any financial reports related to payroll for, but not limited to the Program Manager, and Reporting & Compliance Manager as requested by the Chief Financial Officer.General LedgerReview and approve any reallocation of wages expense journal entry.Record intercompany transactions for payroll expenses.Ensure payroll General Ledger file is submitted to Financial Analyst when payroll is completed.AuditAssist the Chief Financial Officer in preparation of the annual audit and for AGLC audit.Other Duties Other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.REQUIRED SKILLSKnowledge in UKG, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Experience working with payroll.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAccounting Certificate or equivalent experience is an asset.2+ years of Supervisor/Management experience.Canadian Payroll Association certificate.WORKING CONDITIONSThe Payroll Supervisor will experience occasional overtime (month/year-end) and multitask with deadline pressures during peak periods.
