Regional Medical Director Western CanadaAlberta (50% Travel Requirement)IntroductionWe are hiring a Regional Medical Director to support a growing network of veterinary hospitals across Western Canada. This role combines clinical leadership and hands-on practice, playing both a strategic and operational role in elevating standards of care and supporting veterinary teams across the region.Acting as a key medical partner to internal leadership and veterinary hospital teams, the Regional Medical Director leads initiatives that strengthen clinical quality, mentorship, and consistency across multiple sites. This role collaborates closely with operations and medical leadership to drive sustainable performance while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care for pets and their families.ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical leadership across multiple veterinary hospitals, ensuring consistent standards of care and regulatory complianceMentor and support veterinarians through coaching, feedback, and in-clinic guidancePartner with operations leadership to align medical quality with hospital performance and workflow efficiencySupport the development and rollout of clinical protocols, best practices, and quality initiativesReview medical records and performance data to identify areas for improvementAct as a resource for complex cases, client concerns, and professional challengesSupport recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of veterinariansFacilitate ongoing learning through mentorship programs and professional development initiativesBuild strong relationships across hospital teams and promote a collaborative, supportive cultureMaintain an active clinical schedule (approximately 3 days per week)Travel regularly within the region to support teams on-siteRequirementsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent Licensed (or eligible) to practice in Western Canada (Alberta required) 5+ years of experience in small animal practice Prior leadership or multi-site experience preferred Strong clinical skills across medicine, surgery, and dentistry Experience mentoring or coaching veterinarians Ability to use data and insights to support clinical and operational improvements Strong communication and relationship-building skills Comfortable balancing clinical, strategic, and operational priorities Willingness to travel regularlyWhat We OfferWhy apply through Brunel?
