Job PurposeReporting to the Head of Enterprise Technology Services, the Senior Platform Engineer supports, maintains, and improves our hybrid enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role requires advanced expertise in Windows Server, Linux (Red Hat preferred), networking, cloud platforms, virtualization, hybrid identity, Microsoft 365, and infrastructure security.The ideal candidate is a versatile technical professional with strong hands-on troubleshooting skills, operational discipline, automation capability, and a service-oriented mindset. This person will help ensure the reliability, security, performance, and scalability of core infrastructure platforms while supporting projects, operational improvements, and internal users when required.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESInfrastructure Operations & ReliabilityManage, maintain, and improve the reliability of enterprise infrastructure across on-premises (datacenters and offices) and cloud environments.Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux systems, with preference for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex issues across systems, networking, virtualization, identity, and cloud platforms.Support infrastructure lifecycle activities including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, hardening, capacity planning, and decommissioning.Participate in incident response, problem management, maintenance activities, and operational improvements.Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex issues across systems, compute platforms, including Cisco UCS blade servers.Troubleshoot and support core network services and protocols, including DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, NAT, and ACLs.Support Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.Support secure access and zero trust capabilities (e.g., Zscaler) as part of the overall enterprise security posture.Apply best practices for system and network security, including hardening, segmentation, secure configuration, access control, and vulnerability remediation.Provide advanced technical support and escalation assistance for infrastructure-related issues affecting internal teams and users.Work closely with application, cloud, network, security, and support teams.Create and maintain documentation, standards, diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.Support project delivery, technical implementations, troubleshooting, and production support as required.Cloud & AutomationSupport infrastructure workloads in AWS (preferred) and Azure.Assist with deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of cloud services and hybrid integrations.Use Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure as code.Support container platforms and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes / Amazon EKS), including deployment patterns, cluster operations, and troubleshooting.Contribute to automation, standardization, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.Hybrid Identity & Microsoft PlatformSupport a hybrid identity environment integrating on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.Maintain and troubleshoot identity synchronization, authentication, access, and directory services.Support a fully deployed Microsoft 365 environment and its infrastructure integrations.Assist with identity, federation, access, and platform-related troubleshooting across hybrid services.Scope & ExpectationsParticipate in an on-call / after-hours support rotation as required to support critical services and maintenance windows.Balance day-to-day operational support with project delivery and maintenance work.Work within change, incident, and problem management processes, including documentation and clear stakeholder communications.Work within change, incident, experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, site reliability, or operations engineering.Advanced hands-on experience with Windows Server.Strong Linux administration experience, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux.Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts and troubleshooting, including DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, NAT, and ACLs.Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.Experience with Kubernetes, including Amazon EKS (or equivalent managed Kubernetes platforms).Experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.Experience supporting hybrid identity environments, including on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365.Experience with VMware, including vRealize and NSX.Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.Experience supporting Cisco UCS blade servers.Experience with Zscaler or similar zero trust / secure access service edge (SASE) platforms.Solid understanding of system and network security principles.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational tooling.Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and high availability design.Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, Cisco, or security.Experience in regulated, high-availability, or security-sensitive
