The Payroll Specialist will be a valuable member in a team processing the full cycle payroll processing for our Nationwide teammates, ensuring that processes are executed properly and in a timely manner. As the Payroll Specialist at the Recipe, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Recipes bi-weekly payroll. As the Recipes subject matter expert on payroll, you will investigate and resolve complex payroll queries, work on different reconciliations while developing and updating payroll documentation. You will be playing a key role in Ceridian Dayforce configuration and automation. As the subject matter expert on the team, you will act as a key frontline support person to teammates regarding payroll, vacation and RRSP inquiries. What you will do in this role: Process bi-weekly or weekly payrolls for hourly, salaried, union and non-union teammatesManage various Recipe brands portfolioReview and balance Time and AttendanceAudit payroll information entered through MSS to ensure accuracyEnsure completeness of teammate information and documentation received (including all payroll related forms and change requests)Enter payroll information into Dayforce in a timely manner to meet bi-weekly payroll processing timelinesProcedure Records of Employment ensuring government regulations are metPrepare bi-weekly and month-end reports/remittances and ensure timely remittances to the respective authoritiesProcess bi-weekly payroll journal entries in JD Edwards financial systemPrepare off-cycle payments such as EFT and manual cheques, and maintain year-to-date entriesAssist in the year-end processing of T4/T4A/RL-1/W2 and the balancing and reconciling of government remittancesLiaise with other departments on payroll-related issues and queriesInvestigate and resolve payroll issues/concerns raised by teammates/Managers in a prompt and professional mannerMaintain teammates payroll files according to retention guidelinesEnsure confidentiality of payroll informationKeep current with government legislative and tax changes as applicableAct as a backup to colleagues on Payroll team as required What we are looking for from you: Level 2 Canadian Payroll or Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification is an asset5+ years of experience in a payroll environment preferredUS and/or International payroll experience is an assetWorking knowledge of Google, Sheets, GMail, Google Docs and Excel Fast-learner and able to work with different systemsAbility to work independently and handle multiple requests while maintaining deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced constantly changing environmentAbility to prioritize and organize time effectively to meet strict deadlinesAbility to deal with confidential and sensitive information and issues with tact and diplomacyAccurate and detail-orientedExcellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skillsExcellent analytical and problem solving skills Whats in it for you?
