Job Description

We are seeking a high-caliber Estimator & Project Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in our continued growth. This is a dual-authority position designed for a seasoned professional who can bridge the gap between complex pre-construction analysis and successful project execution.You will have the unique opportunity to not only manage multi-million dollar institutional and commercial projects but also to lead and contribute to the development of our companys internal estimating systems. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in a high-responsibility environment and is ready to take sole ownership of the estimating department.Key ResponsibilitiesFull-Cycle Estimating: Sole responsibility for performing detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for multi-discipline commercial and institutional projects.System Development: Lead the design and implementation of a standardized company estimating system to streamline future bidding and procurement.Project Management: Oversee projects from award to completion, ensuring budgets, schedules, and quality standards are strictly maintained.Subcontractor Management: Leverage deep industry knowledge to vet, negotiate with, and manage subcontractors and suppliers across various trades.Site Visits: Travel to various project sites across Alberta and British Columbia for pre-tender meetings and ongoing project oversight.Documentation: Utilize advanced software to manage blueprints, RFIs, and project documentation with high precision.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction within a General Contracting environment.Project Portfolio: Proven track record of managing and estimating multi-million dollar, multi-disciplinary projects.Technical Proficiency: Exceptional skills in Bluebeam (highly preferred) and other takeoff/estimating software.Autonomy: Ability to work independently as the primary estimator while contributing to broader company growth strategies.Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to represent the company professionally during site visits and client meetings.Mobility: Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel for site visits and project requirements.Why Join Us?This is a career-defining role for a professional who is tired of being 'just another employee.'
