Through digital journalism, newsletters, podcasts, events, and a quarterly print magazine, we provide trusted reporting and thoughtful storytelling that reflect the diversity of Jewish life.Role OverviewThe CJN is seeking a driven and relationship-focused external Advertising Sales Representative to grow revenue across our digital and print platforms. The successful candidate will build and manage a pipeline of advertisers, sponsorship partners, and content-marketing clients, while working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth execution.This position reports directly to the CEO and collaborates regularly with editorial, design, and operations staff.Applicant must be based in Canada and be legally eligible to work in Canada.What Youll DoSales & Client ManagementIdentify, cultivate, and secure advertising and sponsorship opportunities across digital, print, audio, newsletters, and events.Manage a robust database of existing and prospective advertisers in sectors such as corporate, nonprofit, financial, education, real estate, professional services, political, and community organizations.Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients at all stages of the sales cycle.Present advertising options, rates, and customized packages that meet client needs.Campaign & Project CoordinationCreate insertion orders, coordinate production dockets, and ensure timely delivery of all required materials.Collaborate with internal designers and editors to evaluate creative assets and ensure campaign readiness.Track timelines for digital and print production and communicate updates to internal teams.Support clients in developing marketing ideas, creative concepts, and campaign adjustments.Workflow & Administrative ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate billing details, maintain up-to-date records, and obtain necessary payment approvals.Provide regular updates on revenue activity and pipeline progress.Troubleshoot issues with clients and deliver proactive solutions.Strategy & CollaborationDevelop and refine sales strategies to hit revenue targets.Work collaboratively with internal departments to support organizational goals.Contribute ideas for new products, sponsorship models, and market opportunities.What You BringMinimum 5 years of sales experience, ideally in media, journalism, publishing, advertising, or related fields.Post-secondary education in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).Proven ability to build strong client relationships and close deals in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns at once.Experience working independently, with motivation to exceed targets.Comfort with CRM tools and office software (FileMaker Pro and Microsoft Office experience is an asset).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work in English; French proficiency is an asset.How to ApplyPlease submit a cover letter and CV toby5pm on May 13, 2026.Only applicants submitting to this email address will be considered for the role.
