Job Description

Position Profile: The Accountant role provides an opportunity to participate in full cycle accounting and reporting from invoicing orders to revenue recognition and financial statement and management reporting preparation and analysis. This is an opportunity for a CPA student or new CPA to learn full cycle accounting, controls and reporting in a supportive and dynamic environment with room for career growth. Reports To: Director Finance and Administration Location: Calgary, Alberta or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; Hybrid 2-3 days in office/week Responsibilities And Accountabilities Invoicing and communication with Customers across Canada and internationally. Accounts receivable reconciliation, reporting and collections. Apply cash receipts to open AR invoices. Reconciliation of Livingston invoices to goods receipts for payment processing. Reconciliation and processing of employee visa statements, mileage and per diems. Communicate with parent and sister companies on intercompany payables and reconciliation for month end. Prepare and post journal entries and accruals for revenue and cost of goods sold based on input from operations. Maintain account reconciliations for inventory and suspense revenue. Manage audit requests and gather support for submission, prioritizing organization and timeliness. Provide back-up for accounts payable, payment runs and other activities. Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement with respect to all finance processes, and helps to implement improvements. Prepare schedules and communicate with external resources on quarterly income tax provisions and entries. Research and make recommendations around proper accounting treatment in all areas including but not limited to: depreciation of fixed assets, lease accounting, revenue recognition and foreign exchange. Manage projects with cross functional teams. Other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications A University degree related to Accounting or Finance Holds a CPA designation or is enrolled in the CPA program 2-5 years of accounting experience Effective communication, organization and time management skills Strong personal leadership skills and initiative Strong computer skills, with experience and proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite Strong interpersonal skills Competencies Action Oriented: Proactive when identifying and solving problems; strong initiative and decision-making strategies; able to coach others and leverages others strengths and interests to accomplish team goals.
