Job Description

To work as part of MEMSReclamation & Constructionteam thepreparation andexecution of site assessments and reclamation for upstream oil and gas sites inWestern Canada.Assessingreclamation projects according to Alberta and BCregulations and criteriafor abandoned well sites; and conducting Detailed Site Assessments, Phase II ESAs, Phase III ESAs, supervision of reclamation projects and technical report writing for clients.This position requires a combination of office and field work (30/70 split) in a demanding consultative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning,organizingandimplementingfield programs, evaluating collected information; preparing professional reports, and ensuring quality assurance and quality control.Completing file reviews and developing draft work plans and cost estimates based on project requirements and client needs.Field programs can include, but not limited to,pre-reclamation site inspections, monitoring and maintenance, detailed site assessments, and reclamation tractor and earthworks,revegetation,Phase 1 ESA site visits,Phase 2 ESAs, remediation projects, and groundwater assessments.Coordinating,supervisingand working with contractorsand Project Managersto implement ESA,remediation, and reclamationprojects.Accurate field cost tracking oftime,expenses and contractorsandtimelyreporting of change order needs.Ensure all client safety requirements, reporting, and field execution expectations are met.File compilation,collection andorganization of field data, interpretation offield andlaboratory resultsand report writing.Participating in technical and safety programs qualityassurance and quality control.Communicate effectively with Project managers and internal personnel asrequired, including within multidisciplinary teams.Mentor staff on execution of field work (including remediation and reclamation projects, supervision of sub-contractors, data collection and field documentation, cost and expense tracking and daily field tickets, application of MEMS Safety Management System and Quality Management System on field work) and preparation of cost estimates and reports.Support theReclamation and Construction Service Groupand actively pursue opportunities to promote the development of thegroup; andother duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceDirectly applicableBachelorsdegree or Diploma with emphasis on reclamation or soil science.Overtwoyears ofdirectly relatedexperience in the execution and management of site assessments and reclamation(ground disturbance) supervision, focusing on the oil and gas industry would be an asset.Knowledge and experience with the 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines as well as the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines would also beadvantageous.Knowledge of the reclamation certificate application process and a strong understanding of agricultural, forestry and oilfield practices would be valuable.Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization isrequired.Possess a valid, non-GDL Class 5Driverslicense; andThe incumbent must be able to meet the requirements of site access as dictated by ourclients, this may include pre-access drug testing and pre-access fitness testing.Other Knowledge and SkillsStrong understanding of agriculture,forestryand oilfield industry; including associated practices and sciences.Knowledge of reclamation certificate application process.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work either independently or as a part of a team interacting with other team members and contractors.Experience driving, hauling atrailerandoperatingATVs.Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting.Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.willingness to travel; andexcellent safety attitude.Working ConditionsThis individual should expect to spendapproximately70% of their work time at client sites; each individual trip lasting anywhere from 1 to 14days.This individual may conduct assessments at industrial facilities and or greenfield sites in remote locations.In some cases, the field work may include carrying samplingequipment;office environment that requires sitting for extended periods of time, as well as fieldwork;prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and computer screens;manual dexterityrequiredto use desktop computer andperipherals;sometimes requires long hours of work.Occasional interruptions outside work hours and travel to other locations arerequired;ability to work varying shifts, including the occasional evening and night;
