The role drives pet parent experience strategies through loyalty and promotions, oversees safety of people and pets, maintains store cleanliness and merchandising, and engages associates to achieve targeted results. Essential Responsibilities People Leadership: Facilitate associate experience and support development through training, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching. Validate completion of operational messages and engagement video compliance. Support Services businesses in the Leaders absence. Delegate and validate daily tasks. Lead and direct associates when acting as Leader on Duty. Address and administer associate complaints and grievances. Recognize and celebrate associate engagement. Brand Integrity and Overall Store Experience: Ensure pet parent experience and outcomes via phone, in person or online. Promote and coordinate store events and marketing for adoptions, vet partnerships, and shot clinics. Handle live pet sales and adoptions. Support monthly live cycle counts and address discrepancies. Recommend and sell merchandise and services, promoting pet parentfacing initiatives. Prepare online orders for instore pickup, ensuring a positive experience. Back up operations for pointofsale systems and handle cash transactions with accuracy and compliance. Maintain store standards and foster empowerment by ensuring policy, procedure, and ethics compliance. Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents. Act immediately when a sick or injured pet is identified; transport to vet if necessary. Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, pet training, adoption center, breakroom, and restroom. Collaborate on opening and closing procedures to uphold brand promise. Assist and work in other departments as required; additional duties may be assigned. Follow all company policies and procedures. Qualifications 2+ years of retail experience in a customerfocused environment. Leadership experience preferred. Fulltime availability required; flexibility evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in computer applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Supervisory Responsibilities No direct reports but expected to guide and support associate development. Provide feedback on associate performance to the direct supervisor. Act as Leader when other leaders are absent, supervising associates, assigning tasks, and addressing concerns. Essential Physical Demands And Work Environment Stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, and write. Frequently reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Requires depth perception. Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with abundant pet hair, moderate to high noise levels, and live animal handling.
