Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.At Blakely, our Data Programmers prepare, and QCs lists of names & addresses for use in mailings, emails & digital advertising campaigns.An individual in this role will be a self-starter, able to read and comprehend sometimes complex data instructions then quickly and efficiently translate those into quality code.Working in a team environment, Data Programmers collaborate with our customer service and print & digital implementation teams to ensure effective project delivery for our clients.MUST HAVES1-2 years of hands-on experience in database programming (T-SQL preferred)Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience in a computer science or related fieldAbility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesEither: Bachelors in computer science or related, orDiploma in computer programming or related, orEquivalent experience in a related fieldNICE-TO-HAVESPrior experience in non-profit marketing / fundraising OR in a print or digital production environment is preferredExperience with SSIS, Python or C# development is recommendedRESPONSIBILITIESDevelop, test and implement SQL code based on client-specific rules and requirements to prepare marketing files derived from client provided dataUtilize provided software to perform data hygiene and duplicate elimination on assigned projectsInterfacing with Digital & Print team members to ensure that the final data product meets required standardsWriting detailed data instructions for and reviewing outcome from outside data vendorsPerform quality control checks on each project to ensure accuracyPrepares final reporting of list quantities and records in a timely mannerMay include software development or data analysis opportunitiesWHO IS BLAKELY?We are a diverse and smart team who value transparency, collaboration, hard work, and curiosity. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision care, 3 weeks vacation plus an additional 9.5 Blakely days off (half day Fridays before each long weekend and the office is closed for one week at the end of December each year).Location: This is a location-flexible work from home position, within Canada. Maintaining a good working relationship is key to success, so we gather our entire team together 3 4 times a year in Aurora, ON . There will be department meetings or 1 on 1 meetings with your manager in person required throughout the year. For those that live 150KMs or more away from Aurora, ON we cover all travel expenses in line with Blakelys travel policy.
