Masters degree in education from an accredited college/university. Evidence of at least three (3) years successful experience in the field. Certification and experience in Social Work, Psychology, Speech Language, Pupil Personnel Services, or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst preferred. Scope Provide direct case management services to students, supporting teaching staff in the full implementation of IEPs through interactions with students, parents, instructional staff, resident district personnel, community agencies, and monitor student progress and maintenance of required student records and reports. Identify professional development needs and as directed by the program administrator, assist in organizing in-service training and individual consultations for school staff. Provide staff with information on varied teaching strategies and needed expertise required in the development of successful instructional programs. Support a positive educational therapeutic classroom atmosphere through proactive crisis intervention and direct intervention to students as required. The Case Manager will report directly to the program administrator and fulfill duties as directed. Responsibilities Confer with teachers, parents/guardians, child study team members and administrators concerning student problems requiring more efficient coordination and communication. Provide staff with information and needed expertise on student learning styles important in the full implementation of instructional guides and student IEPs. Demonstrate a variety of teaching methods, preparing staff for the delivery of an effective instructional program for students. Support teaching staff in integration of related services within the classroom. Provide appropriate input during staffing and appropriate follow-up. Participate in ongoing self-reflection of ones professional practice to improve school services for students. Demonstrate ability to work professionally with pupils, parents, coworkers, administration, and the community. Adhere to all published school policies including those concerning reports, forms, confidentiality of records, supervision of children, safety, and responsibility for materials and equipment. Serve as a resource to school staff in certification or specialty areas: Assist in the screening of new students at the school and provide orientation/explanation and tour of the school to parents/guardians. Provide crisis intervention support and develop/modify behavioral management and educational programs as prescribed in the students IEP, as directed by the Principal.
