POSTING DATE: 05 MAY 2026 CLOSING DATE: 11 MAY 2026 UNION: Service Employee''s International Union - Service WAGE RANGE: $29.154 to $30.346 per hour Position Objective Working to promote quality patient/clientcentred care and high professional standards, the Emergency Room Technician will assist the ED care teams and patients with initial and ongoing patient assessments, monitoring VS, O2 therapy, Sp02 monitoring, IV therapy, performing 12lead ECGs, blood glucose testing, assisting with ambulation, turning and positioning of patients, supporting stable offload patients and other unit functions within the Paramedics knowledge, skill and judgement. Continuous collaboration with the RN team members is essential. Qualifications Completion of a Paramedic program and successful completion of the Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant certification examination. Experience delivering patient care preferred. Current BCLS; ACLS considered an asset. Demonstrated proficient knowledge of CPR and ability to perform compressions during CPR. Experience working within an interprofessional team. Demonstrated ability to meet the physical demands of the position, physically capable to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with assistance. Knowledge of body mechanics for pushing stretchers and wheelchairs and proper patient transfer techniques required. Critical thinking and ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations. Demonstrated advanced competence with regard to patient safety. Strong communication skills including conflict management and situational awareness. Experience in multitasking and task management. Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment and decisionmaking skills. Flexible, selfdirected and able to work effectively with delegation of tasks.
