Performs, produces, and records a variety of diagnostic imaging examinations including HIDA, Sentinel Nodes, WBC scans, VQs, Bones, Renals, Gastric emptying, Octreotides, Iodine therapies, Spect CTs, and MIBGs. Ensures quality patient care at a high level. Reviews documentation to avoid patient identification errors. Communicates with the patient, prepares, explains, and positions the patient for the examination. Prepares and/or administers radiopharmaceutical agents as authorized. Reviews images for completeness, sorts images, and coordinates with the radiologist as necessary. Maintains quality control, records all necessary data, completes paperwork, ensures safety measures and cleanliness, operates and reports malfunctions of equipment, performs daily QA exams and radioactive contamination surveys. Required Qualifications - Completion of a diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) Program. - Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional Required Qualifications - Radiopharmacy skills: labeling WBCs and RBCs, assembling radiopharmaceutical kits, drawing up radiopharmaceutical doses, administering/receiving therapeutic doses, and storing/disposing radioactivity. - Ability to work independently (on call). - Ability to mentor students. - Ability to collaborate with radiologists. - ACMDTT certified. Preferred Qualifications - Working knowledge of Connect Care. - CTIC certification. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification.
