Overview Yellowknife Education District No. 1 and the Ndilo District Education Authority invite applications for the following position: (the community school of Ndilo) Full Time (100% FTE) Term Position 2026/2027 School Year Yellowknife Education District No. 1 and the Ndilo District Education Authority invite applications for a one-year term administrative position effective August 21, 2026. Kalemi Dene School is a Yellowknives Dene community school, which serves Junior Kindergarten to grade 12. It is located in the community of Ndilo and prioritizes the Wilideh language, culture and traditions. It is a JK to 12, community school with approximately 150 students and 30 full-time staff members. Responsibilities Budget development and management Annual external audit Reporting at the department of Education, Culture and Employment level, the Regional Inclusive Schooling Coordinator and Regional Indigenous Languages and Education Coordinator positions Preparing for and attending monthly board meetings Ongoing collaboration with the Ndilo District Education Authority and Yellowknife Education District No. 1 Qualifications and Experience Candidates should ideally possess or be working towards a Masters of Education degree Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience Ability to provide effective instructional leadership which will foster innovation, collaboration, respect and trust in a team environment Dynamic student-focused leader, dedicated to excellence in student learning in an inclusive environment Possess strong interpersonal communication and facilitation skills Successfully build strong relationships with all school and community stakeholders Three to five years of experience working in Administration or in a leadership role Experience working with Indigenous students and families Application Process If you wish to apply please submit your covering letter, resume and three (3) education references electronically to Landon Kowalzik , Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, at until 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026 .
