Responsibilities This position works in the Police Major Case Management organization unit. This is complex clerical work in providing electronic information management services including business process analysis and workflow planning. An incumbent of this class facilitates the collection, retrieval, sharing and analysis of investigative material obtained and generated during RCMP criminal investigations; and in collaboration with others, develops business solutions during the life-cycle of major cases. Considerable independence of judgement and action is exercised in nonroutine matters where decisions are made within a framework of established procedures. Policy or unusual problems are discussed with a superior who reviews work in terms of effectiveness of services rendered and achievement of desired results. Performs related work as required. Qualifications Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 supplemented by computer and information management system courses related to the work, plus considerable related experience in a law enforcement environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the RCMP organization and functions of various internal sections; of the criminal justice system and its components as related to the work performed (e.g. disclosure, exhibits, court procedures, legislation); of various computer systems and software applications (e.g. MCM, workflow management). Ability to participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of business processes for electronic MCM; to monitor program integrity through audit and compliance functions; to develop and present training materials which are appropriate to the intended audience; to supervise and check the work of one or more subordinates and to participate in the hiring and performance evaluation of same. A Drivers License for the Province of British Columbia is required. The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
