Gain valuable teaching experience!Oxford Learning Scarborough Kingston Sheppard is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.There is no pre-planning required as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.Location and ScheduleThis role is in-person. Applicants must be able to commute to Scarborough, Ontario. Relocation packages are not available.Scheduling includes after-school and evening hours (3:00pm8:00pm) during the week and some Saturdays (10:00am3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.Position RequirementsEducationBachelors degree or similar certification in a relevant fieldFourthyear university students with extensive tutoring experience will be consideredTeaching certification an assetGood knowledge of the current Grades812 math and science curriculum, especially Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and BiologyExperienceSome experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade812 (or equivalent) levelStrong English written and oral communication skillsStrong math skills and ability to guide students understandingAbility to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a timeVulnerable sector screening is mandatoryResponsibilitiesTeach up to 3 students at a time at different levelsFollow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophiesFill in postlesson notesComplete daily student communication updatesMaintain a friendly and professional manner at all timesCompensation and BenefitsPay: $18$20 per hour (parttime).
