Senior Packaging & Production Manager (m/w/d)Location: GermanyIndustry: Pharmaceutical CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization)About the RoleAs Senior Packaging & Production Manager, you will lead our packaging operations within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliant, efficient, and cost-effective packaging processes for our global client base. This role combines strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a strong quality focus, reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & ManagementLead and develop the packaging & production teams, including shift leaders and operators, in a cooperative yet assertive manner.Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Act as a role model for GMP compliance and operational excellence.Operational ExcellenceEnsure on-time, cost-efficient, and high-quality packaging operations in compliance with GMP and AMWHV 12 requirements.Review and approve packaging batch documentation.Drive process optimization to achieve quality, service, and cost targets.Coordinate preventive maintenance and troubleshooting with engineering teams.Compliance & QualityMaintain and enhance GMP-compliant packaging processes.Support inspections and audits from clients and authorities.Implement and monitor occupational health & safety requirements in line with German regulations.Strategic ContributionDevelop mid- and long-term capacity and resource plans for packaging operations.Support cross-functional projects with Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure seamless production workflows.Profile & RequirementsCompleted technical, pharmaceutical, or chemical vocational training; degree in engineering, pharmacy, or related field advantageous.Several years experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, ideally within a CDMO environment, with strong focus on packaging operations.Deep understanding of GMP and German pharmaceutical regulations (AMWHV).Proven leadership experience in managing multi-shift operations.Strong technical affinity and process optimization mindset.Very good communication skills in German and English.High quality awareness, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under time-critical conditions.What We OfferA responsible leadership position in a growing, internationally active CDMO.Opportunity to shape and optimize packaging operations for global pharma clients.Modern facilities and state-of-the-art packaging technologies.Competitive compensation package and benefits.Professional development opportunities, including GMP training and leadership programs.
