Job DescriptionA Snapshot of Your DayAs an Electrical Systems Lead Engineer for Power Plant Projects, your day will start with prioritizing tasks to support your ambitious international project. You will craft the core of the Energy Transition for simple and combined power plant equipment, including Power Control Centers, Static Excitation Systems, Startup Frequency Converters, Protective Relaying Systems, and Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems. Most days will bring new challenges and opportunities to team up with a global cross-organizational team. You will communicate directly with vendors, customers, and partners, ensuring a seamless flow of information and support.How Youll Make an Impact Take responsibility for component requirements and design electrical auxiliaries for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Generators during project execution based on contracts, proposal documents, and engineering standardsMonitor engineering costs, staff-hour estimates, and time schedules, taking respective countermeasures to ensure project execution within time, budget, and quality constraintsPrepare and issue equipment specifications and procurement documentsPerform bid evaluations of vendors and engage in technical discussions directly with vendorsParticipate in factory acceptance tests for electrical equipmentLead an Electrical Systems Team (typically 5 engineers) in a particular international execution project, providing guidance, instructions, and mentorship to less experienced team membersCoordinate work with other engineering departments, project managers, as well as erection and commissioning staffWhat You BringA bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering (or similar studies) or an equal qualification in the field of energy engineeringSeveral years of experience in engineering and project execution for Electrical Systems such as LV/MV Switchgears, Battery Chargers, Cable and Cable Raceway Systems, Power Control Centers (PCCs, E-Houses), etc.Creativity, team spirit, and an honest and open personalityKnowledge of Combined Cycle Power Plants, Open Cycle and Nuclear Power Plants, Synchronous Machines, Protection Systems, Excitation and Static Frequency Converters, LV Transformers, and COMOS Systems is an advantage5% travel willingness to vendors, client offices, and project sitesVery good German and English skillsAbout the TeamOur Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization.
