With over 650 employees worldwide we at Grenergy have been doing everything we can every day for more than 15 years to ensure sustainable energy production and drive forward the energy transition.We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel / Senior Associate to join our legal team and provide expert legal support for the execution of renewable energy projects in Germany, with a focus on BESS-PV developments. This role will ensure compliance with local regulations and lead contractual and corporate legal matters, acting as a strategic partner to M&A, development, construction, and financing teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate lease agreements (Pachtvertrag) and land use contracts.Support the review and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (Corporate / Utility), EPC, O&M, TSA, and LTSA contracts.Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks: EEG, EnWG, licensing, and grid connection requirements.Manage corporate legal matters for subsidiaries and SPVs.Support M&A processes including due diligence, contractual structuring, and transaction closing.Provide comprehensive legal advice for the development of photovoltaic projects in Germany, including permitting (BauGB, BImSchG where applicable), land use, lease structures, and landowner relations.Coordinate external legal advisors and lead risk mitigation strategies.Facilitate key decision-making in collaboration with development, engineering, and finance teams.Liaise with notaries, municipalities, the Bundesnetzagentur, and other relevant stakeholders.Candidate profileQualified lawyer in Germany (1st and 2nd Staatsexamen completed).810 years of experience in the energy/infrastructure sector, either in a top-tier law firm or within the renewable energy industry.Deep understanding of the German regulatory framework for renewable energy, planning, and permitting.Proven experience in M&A; knowledge of project finance is a strong plus.Fluent in English and native or professional-level GermanStrong autonomy, business-oriented mindset, and leadership in complex negotiations.Additional experience with other technologies or cross-border projects in Europe is a plus.We offer great professional development and stability in a booming sector, in a listed company in full growth and international expansion, as well as a good atmosphere in a young and dynamic team.Grenergy is committed to providing equal employment opportunities, without discrimination, to all employees and candidates regardless of race, sex, age, ancestry, color, religion, disability, marital status, origin, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other characteristic.
