Someone who understands navigating tough sectors, liaising with Govt. regulatory bodies.JD: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to drive our public policy and regulatory affairs strategy in India. As theHead of Public Policy , you will represent the company’s interests before government bodies, regulators, industry associations, and civil society stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of gaming policy in India, advocating for a fair, forward-thinking regulatory environment that supports innovation, consumer protection, and sustainable growth.Policy Development & Advocacy: Lead development and execution of a comprehensive public policy strategy aligned with business goals. Advocate for policies that support responsible gaming, industry growth, and innovation. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at central and state levels. Draft position papers, policy briefs, whitepapers, and responses to government consultations. Government & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, government agencies (e.g., MeitY, MIB, DPIIT), regulators, and industry bodies (e.g., AIGF, IAMAI). Engage in dialogue with key stakeholders to communicate the social and economic value of gaming. Represent the company at industry events, forums, and public hearings. Strategic Risk Management: Identify and assess regulatory risks and opportunities. Develop mitigation strategies in partnership with legal and compliance teams. Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders on policy implications. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, communications, product, and business teams to ensure alignment on policy matters. Drive awareness and understanding of regulatory trends within the organization. Qualifications & Experience: 10+ years of experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, or government relations, preferably in tech, digital entertainment, or gaming. Deep understanding of the Indian regulatory landscape, especially in digital media, online gaming, IT, and fintech sectors. Strong network within government, industry bodies, and policy circles. Proven ability to influence policy in complex, dynamic environments. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Economics, or related fields. Preferred Attributes: Experience in navigating emerging tech regulations like IT Rules 2021, data privacy, AI governance, or online gaming frameworks.
