Job Title: Chief Surveillance OfficerLocation: Kanjurmarg, MumbaiDepartment: Risk & Surveillance Key Responsibilities:Surveillance Systems & Monitoring: Lead the development, implementation, and management of the surveillance infrastructure to monitor market activities and detect any suspicious trades or fraudulent behaviour. Also ensure that surveillance alerts being generated by the team for Exchange / QSB / DP themes , and act according to the outcome of the findings, process as defined by the regulators are being followed for analysis of the alerts, Maintenance of proper MIS and reports as required by regulations and Reporting of suspicious transaction to relevant authority post appropriate approvalsCompliance with Regulatory Directives: Ensure full compliance with the circulars issued by SEBI and other applicable regulators, related to market surveillance, fraud detection, and prevention. Implement the institutional mechanisms as outlined by SEBI for the identification of market abuse and other unethical trading activities.Risk Identification & Prevention: Identify risks related to market manipulation, insider trading, and other forms of market abuse. Take proactive measures to prevent any violations, ensuring that surveillance systems are able to detect any irregular trading behaviour.Reporting & Investigation: Oversee the timely reporting of surveillance findings to regulatory bodies and senior management. Ensure that investigations of suspected fraud or market abuse are conducted thoroughly and appropriately.Collaboration with Regulatory Authorities: Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies. Participate in industry discussions and regulatory initiatives to stay updated on the latest compliance requirements and surveillance trends.Policy Development & Implementation: Develop internal policies and guidelines in line with regulatory requirements, including the creation and maintenance of a fraud detection and market abuse prevention framework.Training & Awareness: Provide training to employees and relevant stakeholders on fraud prevention, market abuse detection, and internal surveillance systems. Raise awareness about the importance of maintaining market integrity.Audit and Review: Regularly review and audit the effectiveness of surveillance systems, ensuring continuous improvement. Address any gaps or deficiencies identified during audits.Documentation & Record-Keeping: Ensure proper documentation of surveillance activities, investigations, and compliance reports. Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory requirements.
