Orthoptic TechnologistThe Medical City for Military and Security ServicesMuscat, Sultanate of OmanThe Medical City for Military and Security Services (MCMSS) in Muscat Oman is a Tertiary/Quaternary Care level city providing services to patients of different age groups in different specialties.MCMSS is seeking to appoint Orthoptic Technologist, who is well trained and highly motivated individual to develop her/his professional career within the MCMSS.Education/Qualifications:● BSc in Optometry● MSc/ Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Orthoptic● Valid BLS.Experience:Minimum 5 Years clinical experienceJob Duties/Responsibilities:● Has experience to work with pediatric and adult strabismus cases.● Can manage the diplopia cases.● Able to work with Fresnel prism and able to prescribe them for diplopia cases.● Has experience using the synoptophore and the interpretation of the results.● Ability to assess the binocular function.● Ability to use the double Maddox rod and describe the types of torsion.● Able to function the HESS chart with ability to interpret the results.● Able to diagnose the squint cases.● Has experience in pediatric refraction and checking the vision in age from early birth to 2 years old.● Has ability to deal with post Op squint cases.● Has a great communications skills , organized , has decision making skills and attention of details.● Interested in research.● Doing shifts/ on-call duties as per regulations of the department.● Interested in training and teaching other technician.Salary will be based upon qualifications, experience and available vacancies, using Oman Medical Bylaw.Interested candidates should apply with CV and letter of interest via the APPLY button.
