This role will be instrumental in advancing the company’s mission by aligning with the company's core values while cultivating a positive local business identity.Job DescriptionsAs part of an exciting journey to set up a large-scale business from the ground up, you will be responsible for the following:Government Liaison & Compliance Management:-Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies and stay fully informed of their workflows, policies, and procedures.Ensure the clearance of all company applications and regulatory requirements within specified timelines.Monitor regulatory compliance, suggest corrective actions where needed, and ensure adherence to local laws and regulations across all business operations.Anticipate changes in regulations, keeping internal stakeholders updated on emerging trends, policies, and developments in the regulatory environment.Industry & Public Representation:-Represent the company at key industry forums, regulatory meetings, and public policy discussions.Proactively cultivate and maintain the company’s image, ensuring consistent representation of the company’s values and highest standards.Act as the company’s spokesperson on relevant matters, building a positive corporate reputation and fostering relationships within industry groups.Cross-Functional Collaboration:-Collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, Compliance, and Business Units to ensure that company operations align with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.Support teams with strategic advice on government affairs and regulatory matters to facilitate seamless business operations.Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, submissions, and reports as needed.Crisis Management & Risk Mitigation:-Proactively identify potential risks related to government relations and regulatory non-compliance.Provide timely solutions to mitigate risks and manage issues related to government and regulatory bodies.Assist in navigating complex regulatory environments and offer advice to senior leadership when needed.Job Requirements7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment with exposure to government relations and regulatory affairs.Experience working in industries regulated by government bodies and navigating complex compliance environments.Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to represent the company at high-level forums.Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to address regulatory challenges and mitigate risks.Familiarity with Tamil (spoken and reading) to engage with local government and stakeholders effectively.In-depth knowledge of Indian government structures, policies, and regulatory frameworks.Experience in advocacy, lobbying, or influencing public policy, particularly in a corporate or multinational setting.Affable and approachable with an ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external parties.Results-driven, with a focus on achieving strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
