Job Description

As an Assistant Product Manager, you will be responsible for the management of Xiaomi's cutting edge Products (smartphone/tablets series etc.). You will play a key role in shaping the product strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that our smartphone/tablet series meet customer needs and deliver business results.Your responsibilities will include:Product Lifecycle Management: Own the product lifecycle for smartphone/tablet series in your assigned price segment, ensuring that new product introductions (NPI) meet quality standards. Manage the entire lifecycle from ideation to launch, consistently ensuring that product quality and timelines are adhered to.Customer Insights & Market Research: Lead both primary and secondary research to understand customer needs, preferences, and trends. Continuously monitor the competitive landscape to ensure the product remains competitive in the market. Use this information to inform the product roadmap.Product Development & Requirements: Formulate detailed product requirements and specifications based on market feedback, customer needs, and emerging trends. Provide clear guidance to engineering and design teams to ensure products meet market demands.Feature Development & Positioning: Work with cross-functional teams to ideate, develop, and launch new features that align with customer needs and market trends. Develop and refine product positioning and messaging to ensure differentiation in the market.Pricing Strategy & Forecasting: Collaborate with the team to determine the optimal pricing strategy, based on market research and competitive analysis. Contribute to forecasting product sales and revenue, aligning pricing with overall business objectives.Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate product updates and technical concepts to various stakeholders, including media, bloggers, and influencers. Articulate the unique selling points of the products and highlight their value to the customer.Product Metrics & Performance: Define key performance metrics for your product, track their progress, and make adjustments as needed to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.Qualifications:Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in product management, specifically within the smartphone industry or consumer electronics. Demonstrated ability to manage products through their entire lifecycle, from ideation to launch.Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Product Design, or a related field is required. An MBA or a Master’s degree from a reputable university/institute is added bonus.Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of smartphone technologies, both hardware and software, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for various audiences.Customer-Centric: Strong focus on customer needs and the ability to integrate customer feedback into the product development process. Understanding of how to create products that resonate with end-users.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven experience in working with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Quality, to bring products to market successfully.Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present product details, technical specifications, and strategic direction to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends, interpret data, and make informed decisions to improve product performance.Entrepreneurial Mindset: Highly self-driven, with the ability to break down large objectives into smaller, actionable tasks. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
