Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.Tata Electronics is a subsidiary of the Tata Group. The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with Trust.’Job Summary:We are looking for a visionary and hands-on AI & Automation Lead to drive the digital transformation of our OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) factory. This role will lead the strategy and execution of cutting-edge AI, Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Automated Visual Inspection, Collaborative Robots (Cobots), GenAI, and AR/VR applications across the shop floor to improve yield, reduce cost, and enhance agility.Key Responsibilities:Digital Transformation Strategy:Lead the digitalization roadmap focusing on AI, automation, and Industry 4.0 enablement.Identify opportunities for integrating AI, RPA, Cobots, AR/VR, and smart inspection tools into core factory processes.Champion innovation by piloting and scaling emerging technologies to enhance operational excellence.AI & Data-Driven Initiatives:Develop AI/ML solutions for:Predictive maintenance of assembly and test equipment.Yield optimization and defect classification.Real-time process anomaly detection and SPC automation.Test program optimization and data-driven binning strategies.Build robust data pipelines and model deployment frameworks using MLOps best practices.Automation & Robotics:Implement RPA for back-office processes (e.g., test data reporting, lot tracking, yield dashboards).Deploy Cobots for repetitive manual tasks in assembly, handling, and packaging lines.Collaborate with equipment and automation engineers to retrofit legacy systems with smart sensors and intelligent controls.Evaluate and implement automated material handling system AMHS.Automated Visual Inspection:Lead AI-based computer vision projects for real-time inspection of chips, packages, and boards.Integrate inspection tools with MES or automated defect tagging and routing decisions.AR/VR and Human-Machine Interaction:Develop AR/VR training modules for operators and maintenance technicians.Use AR to overlay real-time diagnostics, instructions, or model outputs on equipment for guided troubleshooting.Innovate new workflows with wearable devices to enhance productivity and safety.Cross-Functional Collaboration:Act as the bridge between manufacturing, IT/OT, quality, and engineering teams.Work closely with MES, SCADA, and ERP vendors to ensure seamless data integration.Provide technical leadership and mentoring to internal teams and external partners.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Data Science, or a related field.Experience:8+ years in AI/automation, with a strong track record in smart factory initiatives.Prior experience in semiconductor OSAT, advanced manufacturing, or high-mix low-volume environments.Experience in deploying AI and robotics solutions from pilot to production scale.Technical Skills:Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV).Familiarity with industrial automation tools (PLC, SCADA, OPC-UA). SECS/GEMHands-on with RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate).Knowledge of robotics platforms (e.g., UR Cobots, FANUC, KUKA), AR/VR development experience is a strong plus.Soft Skills:Strong leadership and program management capabilities.Excellent problem-solving and systems thinking.Ability to communicate complex technical topics to cross-functional stakeholders.Passion for innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.Deliver on commitment.
