This role involves automating the installation processes for the Informix database and its engine, and collaborating closely with the developer engineer team to ensure smooth DevOps operations and coordination.Required Skills and Experience:Over 5 to 6 years of experienceProficiency in Informix, Ansible, Bash scripting, and Linux (Ubuntu) OS commands - THIS IS A MUST HAVE Proven experience with Informix database management and DevOps practices.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Key Responsibilities:Execute automation processes for database and engine installations.Collaborate with the developer engineer team to ensure seamless DevOps operations. This includes participating in regular team meetings, sharing knowledge and best practices, and working together to troubleshoot and resolve issues.Work closely with other departments to integrate Informix solutions into broader company initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.Additional Responsibilities:Database engineering: Understand Informix 12.10 architecture. Run Informix playbooks such as Informix Engine provisioning playbook and Informix Migration playbook for multiple sites.Monitoring and follow up: Monitor progress of migration using logs, notification service, and observability tools.Server setup: Contribute to initial server preparation and engine installation through automation.Lower environment conversion: Migrate Informix databases for lower environments, including new server setup and component validation (backup, database, audit, internal tools).DevOps: Debug and troubleshoot issues related to Informix or the playbooks in execution, and fix code as needed.Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and application owners. Document migration process opportunities, monitoring results, performance issues, and resolutions.
