Role & responsibilitiesDesign hard furniture (tables, cabinets, lighting, mirrors, etc.), and help a bit with upholstered furniture and packaging designs.Research global and UK home decor trends and guide product development based on those insights.Work closely with sourcing and production teams, visiting factories in India around twice a month.Understand customer needs in the UK (independent retailers, interior designers, commercial projects) to create designs they will love.Present design ideas and progress regularly to internal teams.Support marketing and trade show activities, helping create content, showroom designs, and product displays.Create CADs, specifications, renders, and imagery for products to help sell them even before production.Work with junior designers to create marketing visuals and online storefronts.Preferred candidate profileA home décor design professional with 6-10 years experience leading design for furniture. Previous experience in designing for online home décor brands or e-commerce companies with global customers is a must.You thrive while working independently and are able to bring thought leadership and structure, building concrete plans and executing against them in ambiguous settings.You have sound knowledge of design tools and platforms. You do not rely on external agencies and are able to own end-to-end product design workstreams.You are customer obsessed and have keen knowledge and understanding of targeting and curating for diverse customer segments using data and analytics.You are highly data driven and use all available internal and external sources of data, including industry reports, to inform your day-to-day selection, curation and design decisions.
