The role demands both strategic intelligence and hands-on aesthetic refinement — across digital, print and product, bringing "taste" and technical strength to the table.Key Responsibilities:1. Brand Strategy & Development:Lead brand building from scratch: from brand purpose, positioning, identity systems, tone of voice to customer experience mapping, visual identity and design.Translate client goals into actionable, differentiated brand strategies and design that work across omnichannel touchpoints (website, packaging, retail, social, PR, print).Deeply understand business objectives and craft brand design adn experiences that balance storytelling, design and market realities.2. Design & Aesthetic Direction:Bring a discerning, editorial eye to design — ensuring all creative output meets a high standard of taste, relevance, and sophistication.Guide moodboard creation, brand manuals, identity systems, and asset libraries for luxury and lifestyle brands.Ensure designs are not just beautiful but intentional, strategic, and scalable across touchpoints.3. Omni-channel Execution:Understand the technicalities of adapting a brand across digital platforms, print production, retail experience, packaging, and marketing materials.Preempt and plan brand applicability for real-world scenarios (social grids, website UX, ATL/BTL ads, in-store displays, product packaging).4. Creative Mentorship & Team Growth:Mentor and up-skill the Trellis creative team to think beyond aesthetics — teaching how to bridge business strategy with design sensibility.Conduct regular internal sessions/workshops on brand thinking, luxury sensibility, omni-channel application, and elevated design practices.Encourage independent, strategic thinking in every creative decision-making process.5. Client Engagement & Brief Ownership:Engage directly with clients to understand the nuance of briefs, brand DNA, and business goals.Own briefs from intake to delivery: ensuring clarity, sharpness and strong execution recommendations.Confidently present concepts backed by strategic thinking and real-world applicability, not just visual appeal.6. Innovation & Taste-Making:Keep Trellis ahead of the curve by bringing in global references, lifestyle cues, design systems, and brand-world inspirations across industries.Spot gaps or opportunities for brands to stand apart through editorial-level storytelling, refined design systems, and next-gen brand behaviour.Desired Skills & Profile:4+ years of experience in branding/design roles, preferably in luxury, lifestyle, editorial or design-first industries.Strong portfolio demonstrating brand identity creation from scratch, not just brand extensions.Deep understanding of branding fundamentals: positioning, tone of voice, visual systems, and omni-channel brand behaviour.Sensitivity to aesthetics but commitment to functional, strategic application.Strong articulation skills — both in client conversations and internal creative direction.Familiarity with digital and print production processes, product packaging development, and customer journey design.Collaborative but decisive — comfortable leading creative reviews and pushing for better standards.KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):Number of brands successfully built ground-up at Trellis.Quality and consistency of brand rollouts across digital, print, product.Internal creative team up-skilling (measured through internal review standards).Client satisfaction and repeat business based on branding success.Contribution to Trellis' evolution into a more editorial, refined, globally competitive organisation.
