We are now looking for a Full Time Editor / News Editor for Republic Kannada, based in Bengaluru. Republic Kannada is Karnataka’s most popular News Channel for Live & Breaking News. We are committed to fearless journalism, ground reporting, and bringing the truth to our viewers. As we expand and strengthen our newsroom, we are looking for a dynamic Editor / News Editors to lead our editorial operations and drive the news agenda.Role Overview:The Editor / News Editor will be responsible for leading and managing all editorial operations at Republic Kannada. They will set the editorial agenda, ensure strong news gathering, maintain the highest journalistic standards, and drive impactful storytelling that resonates with our viewers.Key Responsibilities:Editorial Leadership: Set and execute the daily and long-term editorial agenda for the channel.Newsroom Management: Oversee day-to-day editorial operations, including planning, assigning, and reviewing stories and shows.Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the editorial team, reporters, producers, and anchors.Content Quality: Ensure accuracy, fairness, balance, and the highest editorial standards across all content.Breaking News: Drive the team’s responsiveness to breaking news events, ensuring speed, credibility, and depth of coverage.Editorial Strategy: Plan and implement strategies for coverage around key events, elections, special projects, and investigations.Coordination: Work closely with digital, production, and graphics teams to deliver compelling, multi-platform content.Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory, legal, and ethical standards.Key Skills & Experience:10+ years of editorial experience in Kannada News television Strong leadership and team management skills.Deep understanding of Karnataka’s political, social, and cultural landscape.Proven ability to set editorial vision and execute it effectively.Excellent news judgment, writing, and editing skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Preferred Qualifications:Fluency in Kannada and English.Experience in a fast-paced, high-output newsroom environment.Strong network of contacts across Karnataka.Should have led a newsroom team in a leadership role
