About the roleThe Junior Quality Control (QC) Executive plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products in a food and beverage manufacturing setup. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, sampling, and testing in line with established specifications, while ensuring accurate documentation and calibration of lab equipment. The executive supports internal and external audits, facilitates third-party testing, and contributes to shelf-life studies and continuous improvement initiatives. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as QA, NPD, and Production, the QC Executive ensures product compliance, regulatory adherence, and customer satisfaction, while also participating in training and development efforts to uphold best practices across the organization.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProduct Inspection: Conduct inspections of all New raw materials, Intermediates, and finished goods along with Pre-shipment &/or Alternate vendor samples and establish quality standards and specifications in collaboration with NPD & QA for regular testing. Verification of all regular testing samples thereof.Sampling and Testing: Help in collecting samples for laboratory analysis, conducting sensory evaluations, and using testing equipment to assess product attributes as per plan.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all relevant quality control tests, logbooks, inspections, and findings. Prepare reports on quality performance and trends. Provide COA & COC as per requirement.Calibrations & Daily checks: Monitoring Daily checks, verifications & calibration of pH meter, environmental monitoring, Viscometer, etc as per Standard Operating Procedures and its supporting documentation.Defect/ Non- Conformity Identification: Identify and report defects, non-conformities, and deviations from quality standards, and work with relevant teams to address and rectify issues.Retention Records: Ensure maintenance of retained samples (F.G and R.M) for Seasoning in the recommended storage conditions.Audits: Support internal and external quality audits, prepare for audits, and participate in audit processes as per requirement.Third Party testing: Facilitate all external testing and maintain tracker & log of all external testing records as per plan.Shelf life studies: Performing all relevant shelf life validation & extension studies for RM & FG.Quality Control Processes: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes, procedures, and standards through method development, validations & verifications.Specifications: Periodically review, modify & update specification of material under testing for purpose of process improvements and quality enhancements.Training: Provide training to production and quality control staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.Qualifications and ExperienceEducation: Masters degree in a relevant field such as Food Science or Food TechnologyExperience: 0–2 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates are often considered). Internship or industrial training in a food/beverage company is often a plus. Any experience with lab work, GMP, HACCP, or ISO 22000 processes can give candidates an edge.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of Food Safety and Quality Standards, Technical and Scientific Fundamentals, Testing and Instrumentation and Regulatory Compliance is a must. Skills such as Analytical Skills, Lab Proficiency, Documentation, Data Analysis and Reporting, Attention to Detail, Communication Skills, Problem-Solving Skills, Adaptability, Process Adherence, Learning and Adaptability, Team Collaboration, Time Management, Resilience and Focus is critical to this role.
