Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our manufacturing teamin Chengalpattu, Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of allemployees, minimizing workplace hazards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safetyregulations. As a key member of the safety team, you will play an essential role in maintaining asafe work environment in our manufacturing facility.Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe andcompliant work environment. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards andimplement corrective actions. Ensure all employees are properly trained in safety procedures, emergency response,and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-miss events; prepare detailedreports and recommend preventive measures. Collaborate with various departments to ensure safety compliance in manufacturingprocesses and operational activities. Monitor compliance with NEBOSH standards, local regulations, and company safetypolicies. Ensure all required safety records and documentation are maintained accurately andup-to-date. Coordinate and conduct safety drills, emergency response training, and fire safety drills. Promote a safety-first culture by conducting awareness campaigns and encouraging safework practices among employees. Work closely with management to ensure all safety-related concerns are addressedpromptly.Requirements: Education: A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in a manufacturingenvironment. Certification: NEBOSH or a relevant safety certification is mandatory. Additionalcertifications in occupational safety or health are a plus. Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety regulations, best practices, and the ability toimplement safety systems effectively. Skills:o Ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.o Proficiency in safety management software and MS Office.o Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Personal Traits: Detail-oriented, proactive, with a strong commitment to workplacesafety.Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors. Familiarity with ISO 45001 or similar occupational health and safety managementsystems. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
