This role will focus on the chemical analysis, formulation, and processing of biomaterials, with a particular emphasis on the development and enhancement of bioleather.Key responsibilities include:Conduct chemical analysis of biomaterials to understand and optimize their composition and properties.Work with organic solvents and polymer chemistry techniques to refine biomaterial formulations.Develop and optimize cross-linking and polymerization processes to enhance material strength and durability.Investigate chemical reactions for material formation, improving performance and scalability.Apply biochemical analysis methods to assess material properties and interactions.Perform material characterization using techniques such as FTIR, SEM, TGA, and rheological testing.Study rheology and material flow properties to support process optimization.Develop post-processing techniques to improve the appearance, texture, and mechanical properties of biomaterials.Maintain high-quality documentation of research findings, experiments, and process improvements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including material scientists, engineers, and designers, to drive innovation.Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory safety protocols.Who are we looking for:M.Sc. / M.Tech / Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field.2-4 years of research experience in academia or industry, preferably in biomaterials, biopolymers, or sustainable materials.Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, cross-linking mechanisms, and organic solvent interactions.Hands-on experience with material characterization techniques (FTIR, SEM, TGA, DSC, rheometry, etc.).Familiarity with biopolymer processing and bioorganic chemistry principles.Ability to interpret test results and translate findings into process improvements.Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and research-driven environment.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to sustainable biomaterial innovation.Why would you love this role?
