Sketching of a thought or concept to describe the shape, form or any particular detailing. Worked at a footwear factory. Responsibilities:Conceptualization and Design:Research current market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to inform footwear design concepts.Generate ideas and sketches for new footwear designs, taking into account style, functionality, and target audience.Collaborate with the design team to translate initial concepts into detailed technical drawings and specifications.Material and Component Selection:Source and select appropriate materials, trims, and components for footwear design prototypes.Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of quality materials that meet design requirements and production timelines.Stay informed about advancements in materials technology and sustainability practices relevant to footwear design.Prototype Development and Testing:Oversee the creation of footwear prototypes, including pattern making, sample construction, and fitting sessions.Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of prototypes to assess fit, comfort, durability, and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and manufacturing, to address any design or production issues.Technical Documentation:Prepare detailed technical specifications, including material lists, construction methods, and production instructions, for each footwear design.Ensure accuracy and clarity in technical documentation to facilitate the smooth transition from design to production.Trend Forecasting and Market Analysis:Stay abreast of emerging fashion trends, color forecasts, and consumer preferences in the footwear industry.Analyze market data and sales performance to identify opportunities for new product development and line extensions.Brand Representation:Uphold the brand identity and design aesthetic across all footwear collections and product lines.Present design concepts and prototypes to internal stakeholders, including senior management and marketing teams, for feedback and approval.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in women's footwear design, preferably in a fashion or lifestyle brand.Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.Strong sketching and illustration skills, with the ability to communicate design ideas effectively.Knowledge of footwear construction techniques, materials, and manufacturing processes.Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Excellent communication and presentation skills.
