Position Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Robotics Engineer to join our client's Advanced Engineering team in Chennai. This role is both strategic and tactical in nature and will be pivotal in driving the next generation of autonomous and intelligent systems for our machines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and be capable of leading and implementing advanced robotics technologies across product lines.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and integrate embedded Linux-based robotics platforms for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems.Implement geometric computer vision and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms for real-time navigation and object detection.Develop and optimize C++ code for embedded systems and robotics control loops.Work on sensor fusion from multiple sources such as LiDAR, GPS, cameras, and IMUs to enhance localization and perception.Integrate Computer Vision algorithms for feature detection, tracking, and classification.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop user-friendly Display and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) solutions for operator-machine interaction.Participate in the strategic planning of robotics capabilities aligned with John Deere’s innovation roadmap.Tackle complex engineering problems using first principles and analytical reasoning to deliver robust, scalable solutions.Key Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.6–14 years of relevant experience in robotics systems development, preferably in embedded environments.Strong hands-on experience with Embedded Linux, C++, and ROS/ROS2.Solid foundation in geometric computer vision, image processing, and feature extraction.Deep understanding of SLAM, sensor fusion, and probabilistic estimation techniques.Exposure to HMI/Display systems and integration into complex machinery is an advantage.Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative R&D environment.Experience in agricultural automation, automotive, or off-highway machinery is preferred.
