Job Role - LEAD ENGINEER- CIVIL & STRUCTURALMAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral• Participates in the development and implementation of engineering practices, workflows and procedures;recommends and implements resulting specs and procedures.• Participates in reviews of work activities and projects, monitors workflow.• Consults with and makes recommendations to SME and Project Management Teams.• Controls key parameters (KPIs), benchmarks and efficiency figures to be applied in estimating material andman-hours.• Contributes to optimization of engineering practices, workflows and procedures based on collected KPIs.• Solves problems of various degrees of complexity.• Coordinates and participates in the training programs for Engineers and Designers in the department.• Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in thefield of Discipline engineering.Project execution• Ensures compliance to Discipline Manual and Job Manual during project execution to ensure that allcontractual requirements are implemented and fulfilled.• Ensures good quality of the deliverables for the design work.• Ensures completion of WBS elements within allotted man-hours and schedule dates.• Ensures on time quality review of Inter-discipline documents and vendor deliverables.• Contributes to implementation of safety relevant principles, standards, rules and procedures.• Ensures implementation of lessons learnt identified for the assigned projects.• Manages the technical procurement activities for various types of C&S items as per contract..• Reviews and approves Vendor documents applicable for the Discipline.• Attends to inspections as per requirement of the inspection department• Site assistance through replying to site queries.• Able to perform Man Hours calculations using Discipline calculation tool.Technical Community• Participates to the Discipline related technical community,• Participates in the development of Discipline related technical standards, specifications and design criteria.• Develops knowledge in the area of responsibility through seminars, training and execution of variousprojects.• HSE, QA/QC• Executes applicable scope of work in compliance with the requirements of the HSE Management System andIMS for the discipline/project.• Ensures that the documentation is prepared, checked and approved according to Project Quality Plan andready to be released by the respective Lead Engineer.• Provides all necessary input to the lessons learnt process/capitalization and best engineering practiceCompetency Management• Contributes to the development and implementation of competitive solutions.• Applies technical and specialist knowledge to stay up-to-date with innovations and developments in theindustry and continues to offer best practice.• In alignment with the Head of Department , supports mentoring and coaching to meet current and futureneeds.• Contributes to the implementation of lessons learnt within the department into workflows, procedures andstandards. Knowledge sharing. Develop juniors to become more competentDOMAIN KNOWLEDGE• Leads & coordinates C&S Engineering for Projects. Has wide discipline knowledge; good coordination skillwith all the other Engineering disciplines, engineering sub-contractors, vendors and construction teams.• Preparation of TRS for soil and topographical studies• Manage, Coordinate, Validate soil studies / topographical surveys• Analysis & Design Pile Foundation• Analysis & Design Soil Supported Foundation• Analysis & Design of Dynamic Foundations (Compressors, Motors, Fans etc)• Preparation of Bar Bending Schedule• Analysis & Design of structure in line with specifications, project requirements.• Modular Steel Structure design including Lifting & Transportation analysis• Structural steel connection design• Shop Drawing Control, Supervision & Checking• Estimation of Construction quantities and Manage quantities during the project• Participate in the subcontracting activities (ITB preparation, clarifications with the bidders...) and providesupport to the site activities during erection.• Material of Construction Specifications, Test Requirement• Support to material procurement• RFI management - from Sub-contractor, Shop Drawing Detailer, Construction Site• Optimize the structure design• Experience with various codes and standards (Indian, American & European)• Experience in using STAAD Pro Software• Anticipation and Identification of risks and opportunities and recommend mitigations during execution• Effective Communication skills with proactive coordination to manage inter discipline workflow.• Ability to identify cost optimization opportunities during project execution .• Tool proficiency - STAAD Pro, Auto-CAD, MS Office, Smart Plant Review / NavisworksEXPECTED COMPETENCIESKnowledge and work experience specific to the jobEducation: MTech /ME , BTech / BEDiscipline: Civil and StructuralWork Experience: Experience in EPC or Detail design engineering company in the engineering discipline forexecution of projects in various sectors like Oil & Gas, Energy, Refining, Petrochemicals.Experience range : 12 years and aboveLanguage: English - Fluent
