HCLTech hiring - Business Head - Medical domain expert - Chennai Position Overview:As the owner of the Business unit , you will be at the forefront of driving disruptive innovation and reshaping the Market Landscape for high end implantable hearing devices and the adjacencies. You will be responsible for leading the charge in identifying new opportunities, and creating game-changing strategies that position the products range as safe, innovative and market leading. The business is expected to start from scratch and all the challenges of setting up a unique medical devices business will be inherent to this position.Working closely with the executive team, HCL’s top management and partner manufacturing ecosystem that you would help shape, you will define and execute the Business' long-term vision, business strategy, product innovation and operational priorities to achieve sustainable financial performance.The position holder will provide leadership to heads of engineering, manufacturing, product management, go to market and other business support functions.Key Responsibilities:Develop and communicate a bold vision that challenges conventional thinking and inspires employees, customers, and stakeholders to embrace change and pursue innovation relentlessly.Develop efficient sales channels by cultivating stake holders like ENT surgeons, Hospitals and other ecosystem players. You will create Brand visibility within these ecosystems and patients.Lead the manufacturing with own and partner organization lines, enhance supply chains in maintaining the quality while lowering the product costs.Challenge the R&D teams in incorporating the innovation and reshaping the market, including identifying emerging trends and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to gain a competitive advantage while meeting global regulatory standards. Lead the development and execution of comprehensive business plans, annual operating budgets, and strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion.Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments in the implantable hearing aids and other adjacent market spaces, anticipating opportunities and challenges, and adjusting the Business’ strategy accordingly & drive sales.Build strategic partnerships and alliances with like-minded organizations, startups, and industry disruptors to accelerate innovation, access new markets, and create synergies that amplify the company's impact and reach.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory standards governing the design, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of medical devices, maintaining the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and corporate governance.Anticipate and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with disruptive innovation, including regulatory hurdles, technological barriers, and competitive threats, while maintaining a focus on long-term growth and sustainability.Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, partners, investors, regulators, and industry influencers, to advance the company's interests and enhance its reputation.Provide regular updates and transparent communication to the Management, and other stakeholders on the Business’ performance, strategic initiatives, and key milestones.Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all functions and levels of the organization, empowering employees to achieve their full potential and deliver exceptional results.Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent, building a high-performing leadership team capable of driving the business’ strategic objectives and executing on its growth plans.Qualifications:Business administration, Engineering, or a related field. Proven techno-commercial orientation in business decision making at leadership levels.Track record of executive leadership and achievement in the medical device or healthcare industry, with a focus on manufacturing operations, product innovation, and market expansion will be a big advantage. Familiarity with medical device regulatory environments like FDA, CE, etc., is essential.Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and capitalize on market trends, identify growth opportunities, and drive business transformation in a dynamic and competitive environment.Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with a track record of delivering sustainable revenue and profit growth.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus, inspire trust, and influence stakeholders at all levels.Visionary leadership style with a passion for driving innovation, fostering a culture of excellence, and empowering teams to achieve extraordinary results.Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards for medical devices.Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, attracting and retaining top talent, and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.Location:This position can be preferably based at Chennai, India with travel requirements for business. Alternative locations can be considered.
