We're Hiring: Team Lead - Materials Process EngineeringSenvion is seeking a dynamic Materials Engineer, who will provide guidance on metallurgy and manufacturing processes of castings, Fabrication and Forgings in the Wind Turbine. This role will encompass material selection, manufacturing support, material analyses and definition of actions to improve quality of products. In this role you will work as part of local and global team to deliver materials engineering excellence.Key Responsibilities:Sr Lead Engineer /Technologist with plan and provide technical support within materials engineering with respect to projects and products focused on Castings, Fabrications and Forgings in the Wind TurbineProvide metallurgical support, define requirements based on internal specifications and industrial standards.Support material selection appropriate to equipment design and function.Support the maintenance and development of specifications for material and material processing within the context of any applied codes and standards, e.g. Pressure Equipment Directive, IIW.Deliver disposition of material substitutions and deviations, concessions.Drive materials development programs to support innovative technology introduction in new generations Wind TurbinesStrategize and execute material analyses and testing at approved laboratories.Support RCAs and lead the materials engineering activities including 8D, material testing, NDT, Review of reportsLiaise with Supplier Quality Engineers and support with supplier qualification where appropriate.Review and respond to supplier concession requests and non-conformance reports.Provide materials support to Products and Services.Issue and check technical reports.Delivery of technical assessment of non-conformance reports and supplier concession requests.Participate in cost reduction activities related to material streamlining and harmonization of legacy specifications.Maintain positive interfaces with other technical disciplines.Maintain a positive technical interface with Senvion factories and external suppliers in charge of the components manufacturing.Provide feedback experience to the group (feedback meetings with suppliers and internal, feedback reports)Desired Professional Experience / Competencies10-15 years of experience in an engineering metallurgy role, preferably related to Large Fabrications, Castings & Forgings.Demonstrated strong background in metallurgy, particularly metallurgy of steels. Understanding interrelations between the material, manufacturing processes, resulting microstructures and mechanical properties.Demonstrated strong background in processing of metals (e.g. casting, metal working, fabrication, surface engineering…)Understanding of materials testing methods and evaluation of properties.Experience working with and/or supporting a manufacturing environment.Good awareness of GL 2010, IIW, ASTM, Standards for Wind Turbines.Knowledge of International & National Material Standards (ASTM, AMS, ISO, ASME, etc.).
