Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer to lead the development and optimization of our mobile applications for Android devices. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, back-end engineers, and product leads to deliver mobile features that support students, parents, and educators. This is a hands-on role focused on performance, scalability, and elegant UI execution within the Android ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Android App Development Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java Build pixel-perfect UI based on product designs using Jetpack Compose or XML layouts Ensure app performance, responsiveness, and compatibility across devices and OS versions Write clean, scalable code with proper testing, debugging, and documentation Collaboration & Optimization Integrate front-end components with back-end APIs (REST/GraphQL) Work with designers and product managers to implement feature-rich, intuitive UI flows Maintain and optimize existing app codebase for efficiency and stability Manage Play Store submission, updates, and releases Qualifications and Experience 3+ years of professional experience in Android development Strong proficiency with Kotlin, Android SDK, and modern Android development practices Familiarity with Jetpack Libraries, Room, LiveData, ViewModel, and Data Binding Experience with third-party libraries (e.g., Retrofit, Glide, Firebase) Understanding of Material Design principles and mobile UX standards Experience publishing and maintaining Android apps in the Google Play Store Comfortable using Git, CI/CD tools, and working in agile teams Strong debugging and communication skills Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote environment Compensation and Work Hours Salary: $1,000 USD per month (based on experience and expertise) Work Schedule: Full-time, aligned with Pacific Standard Time (PST) Why Join Sapience?
