General Manager - Enterprise ApplicationsFunctional AreaOverall ownership of formulation of application development strategy of the organization and roll-out of transformational initiatives across business units and locationsMain Purpose of the JobLeading the delivery of application modernizaion projects and driving implementations to collaboratively deliver exceptional customer experiences, streamline operational efficiency and ensure that the organization is fit for the digital futureKey accountabilitiesResponsible for:Leading application modernization journey of the organizationInteracting with the senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to identify business process gaps, recommend improvement areas and prepare detailed plan to implement recommendationsKey ActivitiesManaging cross-functional teams to ensure transformative impact on key business outcomes through enterprise-scale initiatives and modernization of technologiesKey SkillsApplication Developer with a high level of technical expertise, combined with excellent planning, coordination and communication skills, and the ability to work with teamsMust have experience with relevant development tools and specific application and system architecture, in addition to a strong understanding of object-oriented designProficient in building cloud-native application development using latest technologies like Java, React, Node, etc and understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps practices is expectedProven experience in leading enterprise-scale initiatives and organisational changeExperience in working in the areas of IT strategy, digital transformations, Cloud technology, Design Thinking, etc.Good understanding of associated areas such as Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, Infrastructure & Application modernization, Microservices based architecture, etc.Expertise in applying human centred design, service design and/or agile approaches to project delivery would be desirableExperience in identifying and evaluating emerging disruptive trends, analysing potential opportunities as well as risks and barriers to adoptionGood listening skills, ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out why things happenAbility to deliver compelling proposals and effectively influence and communicate across business unitsStrong communication (written and oral) with proven ability to build strong relationship across stakeholder groupsCertifications RequiredCertification/ specialization in Enterprise Architecture/ Agile development practices/ Human-centred design/ PMP would be an advantageBrief Role DescriptionArchitect, design, and develop scalable, resilient, and cloud-native applications, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectivesDesigning the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware and infrastructureOversee the modernization of the company’s bespoke applications, ensuring they are optimized for efficiency and effectivenessProviding technical leadership to the application development team, performing design and code reviews. Ensuring that uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintainedExecute all projects in compliance with the development guidelines, enforce sound development practices and ensure quality and timely delivery of applicationsAct as a technical advisor to application development teams to plan, implement, and support new and existing applications.Work with functional leaders across the organization to develop detailed plans and manage delivery ofinitiatives applying Human-Centred Design and agile approaches to successfully deliver on time, within budget, and to the required quality and security standardsMonitor progress against the transformation roadmap, communicate regularly with stakeholders on the status of the initiatives and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful deliveryIdentify and manage risks associated with the planned initiativesLead / facilitate workshops to co-design, standardize & reengineer processes to improve efficiency and governanceActively collaborate to embed core digital skills (customer-centred design thinking, collaborative co-design and agile delivery), foster creative thinking and knowledge sharing and drive operational efficiency through continuous improvementProvide thought leadership on innovative approaches to problem solving and provide strategic advice to the business on best practices and opportunities for business transformation through technology-led interventionsStay up to date on latest trends and identify industry best practices, new technologies, and business opportunitiesExperienceApprox. 15-20 years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in leading enterprise-scale initiatives or a similar roleEducationMCA/ Graduate Engineer in Electronics and Communication / IT / Computer Science/Electrical and MBA from a reputed University/College
