Our in-house CRM/ERP systems require robust database management, optimization, and security. We are looking for a Junior Database Administrator with strong expertise in MySQL and a fundamental understanding of other database structures.Role Overview:As a Junior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring the security of our MySQL databases that support our core CRM/ERP systems. You will work alongside development and infrastructure teams to enhance database performance, ensure data integrity, and implement best practices for database management.Key Responsibilities:Manage, monitor, and maintain MySQL databases for high availability and performance.Optimize and fine-tune queries, indexing, and database schemas.Assist in database backup, recovery planning, and disaster recovery strategies.Ensure data integrity, security policies, and access control management.Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, slow queries, and deadlocks.Work with development teams to design efficient database structures and stored procedures.Support database migrations, upgrades, and replication configurations.Document database structures, processes, and best practices.Stay updated with emerging database technologies, security trends, and performance tuning techniques.Essential Technical Skills:2-3 years of hands-on experience with MySQL database administration.Strong knowledge of SQL queries, indexing, stored procedures, triggers, and views.Experience with MySQL replication, clustering, and performance tuning.Proficiency in query optimization and database profiling tools (EXPLAIN, MySQL Slow Query Log, Performance Schema).Understanding of database security best practices and user permission management.Experience with database backup and recovery strategies (mysqldump, Percona XtraBackup, etc.).Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line operations for database management.Basic knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and other relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle, etc.).Experience in working with large datasets and high-transaction databases.Desired (Nice-to-Have) Skills:Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL Database).Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools for database deployments.Scripting experience with Shell, Python, or SQL automation.Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.Knowledge of containerized database solutions (Docker, Kubernetes).Exposure to database monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, MySQL Workbench, phpMyAdmin).Personal Qualities:Passionate about database management, security, and optimization.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Proactive mindset and eagerness to learn new database technologies.Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively.Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity.Benefits of Joining Us:Work on enterprise-grade database systems in real-world applications.Gain hands-on experience with advanced database technologies and cloud solutions.Access to mentorship, technical training, and certifications.Competitive salary package with career advancement opportunities.A collaborative work environment that values innovation and continuous improvement.Ready to Join?If you're a passionate Database Administrator looking to grow and contribute, we’d love to hear from you!
