- Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) in accordance with ASME Section IX and EN ISO 15614-1, ensuring alignment with project and code requirements; coordinate with clients for review and approval.- Plan and execute welder and welding operator qualifications in line with ASME Section IX, ISO 9606-1, and EN ISO 14732, including client witnessing and approval processes.- Respond to technical queries related to welding during the enquiry/sales stage, providing input for feasibility assessments and cost estimation.- Estimate welding consumables based on project specifications, drawings, and welding process requirements.- Identify, assess, and qualify vendors/suppliers of welding consumables to ensure quality and compliance with applicable standards.- Conduct regular audits of shop floor activities to verify compliance with approved welding procedures and ensure only qualified welders are deployed.- Develop repair procedures for fabrication defects, ensuring adherence to code and client requirements.- Perform root cause analysis for RT/UT failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.- Conduct training sessions for shop supervisors and welders on welding codes, standards, and practices; promote multi-skilling through training in multiple welding processes.
